A weekend dealing with the back “log”
Now the snow has gone for the year, this weekend was spent building a new log store and chopping up a whole pile of logs that had accumulated for various reasons. Sadly, we had to chop a tree down which was endangering the farmhouse and another tree which was encumbering delivery trucks and forcing them into a muddy culvert.
The logs will have to dry out for a year before we can use them so we’ll have to buy a couple of cubic meters for 2018. Whilst chopping away it became apparent that the huge log store wasn’t big enough to store all the chopped logs, never mind the new ones which we’ll soon buy so there’s more log chopping and store building to be done later in the year.
The good news is that we’ve planted about 480 trees and bushes in their place!
